A Tailevu farmer has pleaded guilty to a count of rape of a 9-year-old girl however he pleaded not guilty to a count of sexual assault.
It is alleged that the man raped and sexually assaulted the girl in January this year.
However, according to his lawyer, he wanted some time to clarify with his client on whether he wants to change his second plea.
High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar then said that the accused needs to understand the consequences of the charges.
The case has been adjourned to the 8th of July.
