The transfer of $499,000 to WOWS Kids Fiji from the Fiji Cancer Society account is still on hold.

WOWS Kids Fiji Chairman Makrava Wilson is disappointed that they were given confirmation at the Society’s Annual General Meeting that the money would be transferred however, they will now have to wait a bit longer than expected.

Wilson said the Society’s Manager Rajshree Baleisuva has told him that the transfer will be made once the new Board Members sit for their first meeting.

He had earlier said in an interview with Fijivillage that the Foundation will receive the full amount and will be tax exempted.

Wilson said this was the confirmation from former Interim President Nazhat Shameem before the AGM was held.

Majority of the funds that was collected for WOWS is through the 2012 Walk On Walk Strong campaign where you the listeners of Legend FM, FM96, Viti FM, Navtarang and Radio Sargam contributed towards the worthy cause.
