A two weeks training on hotel front office reception and housekeeping services for 50 special needs students ended yesterday.
The training was held from the 12th to the 23rd of this month at the Lautoka Special School and Sunshine Special School.
Minister for Youth and Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou says the training objective was to equip these special needs students with industry specific training to prepare them for work attachment.
The training was facilitated by the Pacific Institute of Tourism Studies.
Tuitubou says students from these classes often have work attachments at hospitality organisations.
Lautoka special school head teacher, Elenoa Daveta Vunitabua thanked the ministry for providing a window of opportunity for her students.
She says the training will reinforce their vocational program through the provision of specific skills to prepare students for the work force.
