Traffic lights opposite the Suva Bus Station at Rodwell road will continue to face electrical failures for a while longer.
Fiji Roads Authority CEO John Hutchinson confirms that the issue is related to an electrical component failure which resulted from the old equipment.
Hutchinson says that they are currently in the process of evaluating a Fiji-wide Traffic Signal upgrade tender that will resolve such issues.
He says that all traffic lights which have passed their useable date will be replaced over a period of time.
However he says that they will be putting in a temporary fix at the traffic lights at Rodwell road.
Hutchinson says that they have a temporary traffic management procedure that has been put in place and will be activated when there is a traffic signal failure to ensure that the public is not affected.
