Police confirm that the traditional matanigasau presented to the family of the 24-year-old woman who was found dead in Drauniivi village in Ra on Sunday morning will not hinder their investigations.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said investigations will continue.
On Monday night the family of the man who is alleged to have given the brown liquid to the 24-year-old victim asked for forgiveness from her parents.
The suspect went with his family and said sorry to the family of Raijeli Laveti.
Village headman Lekima Dausoko confirmed that the parents of the 24-year-old victim have accepted the traditional presentation and have forgiven the suspect.
The woman will be laid to rest this Friday.
She is survived by her 3-year-old son, her parents and her four siblings.
