Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Premila Kumar

Our tourism industry is now worth $2 billion and Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Premila Kumar says Fiji is well on track to reach the $2.2 billion industry target by 2021.

While opening the 2019 Fiji Tourism Expo in Denarau, Kumar says the Annual Expo brings together key agencies of the tourism industry and international travel agents to familiarise themselves with the various products that Fiji has to offer.

Kumar says tourism is paving the way for Fiji’s growth.

She says it is a united industry, one that connects, builds bridges, moves the Fijian economy forward, and contributes to more than 30 percent to Fiji’s GDP, employing 1 in 3 people.

This year, there are about 158 international buyers and 14 international media, who will be meeting more than 300 exhibitors with some coming from as far as Ukraine, Italy and Netherlands.
