Tourism industry needs to share ideas that assist to develop - Koya

The Tourism industry needs to share ideas that assist to develop and grow businesses within the industry and can also assist the government in identifying areas where policy intervention is required.

This was stated by the Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya while opening the talanoa session between government and the Tourism industry with the aim of creating a platform for constructive dialogue.

He says that dialogue and discussions are key ingredients for success.

Koya adds that communication creates openness and transparency, which will enable a better understanding of the policies and the needs of the industry.

He also highlighted that the aim of all stakeholders is the growth of the tourism industry in a sustainable manner adding that plans for the future can only be discussed in the true spirit of Talanoa.

The Talanoa Session concluded over the weekend following the HOTEC Tradeshow 2017.
