Three people died on our roads in three separate road accidents yesterday.

A mini bus driver lost his life after a head on collision with a bus at Princes Road, Tamavua at about 9 last night.

Details on this accident are sketchy at the moment.

In another incident, a man believed to be in his early 50s died yesterday morning in a road accident in Nausori.

Police said at around 6am, the victim was walking on the side of the road near Nausori District School when he was hit by a vehicle after the driver lost control of the car.

The victim was wearing green track pants with a green collared shirt and was holding a small transistor radio.

The driver of the vehicle is in police custody.

Police have requested members of the public to come forward to identify the victim.

Meanwhile, a family of Nasinu also lost their youngest son in a horrific road accident on Kings road near the Fiji Dairy factory in Nabua yesterday.

Fijivillage has been informed that, 25-year-old Kritesh Kumar, was on his way to open up his family car wash business at Flagstaff yesterday morning when the tragic incident happened.

Kumar who was a tertiary student would have graduated this Friday and plans were in place for him to get married in two months time.

Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirms Kumar died instantly when the vehicle he was driving hit a lamp post.

An eye witness told Fijivillage that the man was on his way to Suva from Nausori at about 8am when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle which went off the road and hit a lamp post.

He was alone in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

He was trapped in the vehicle for about half an hour as the

National Fire Authority fire fighters tried to remove him from the vehicle which was badly damaged.

The post mortem is expected to be conducted today.

Sokomuri said the vehicle will also be inspected by the Land Transport Authority today.
