Thousands of people are facing water disruptions in parts of Sigatoka.
The Water Authority of Fiji has confirmed that water supply will be disrupted from today until 12pm Wednesday afternoon.
The Authority says that parts of Sigatoka that will be affected include Malaqereqere, Rakirakilevu, Lawaqa, Olosara, Cuvu and Naidovi areas, Sigatoka Town and surrounding areas.
Water Authority has confirmed that the interruption in the water supply is a result of major realignment works and anchoring of the high-pressure pipe at Matovo Water Treatment Plant.
The Authority has requested people residing in the areas affected to store water in advance and to use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Water carts are currently on standby to service the affected areas as and when the need arises.
Water Authority says that water supply is expected to be restored at 1pm Wednesday afternoon.
