Fiji Labour Party Secretary General Mahendra Chaudhry said this general election is not an ordinary election.
While speaking to about 110 people at the Labasa Civic Centre, Chaudhry said this year’s election is about people’s future, their children’s future and Fiji’s future.
He said everyone has to save this country from dictatorship.
Chaudhry said if they form government their first priority will be to pay sugarcane farmers a fair price for their cane, based on the cost of production.
He also said they will make the lease renewals for cane farms be government’s responsibility.
Chaudhry also said that they will focus on reviving rice farming in the Northern Division where rice was once a major crop.
