Thirty youths will now be able to find a job after graduating from the Information Technology Course.
The one week course was facilitated by the Ministry for Youth and Sports and the Fiji Police Force.
While speaking to the youths, Permanent Secretary, Alison Burchell urged the youths to put their newly acquired knowledge to good use.
Meanwhile, Community Policing Samabula District Coordinator Sergeant Pio Sovalevu said the graduates will be registered with the National Employment Centre with the hope that their newly acquired skills will assist them secure employment.
Three graduates have already got jobs.
Sovalevu said they will have another five workshops in the coming months and they will focus on other areas that can assist them find a job.
He said the youth are from areas considered to have high crime rates and the aim of the workshops is to help give them skills which will help with their search for employment.
Sovalevu said they will be identifying youths from other districts within the Southern Division area of operation to be part of these workshops.
Some of the things youths learnt during the workshop include catering, agriculture and mechanical engineering.
