The Permanent Secretary for i-Taukei Affairs Naipote Katonitabua says that one of the major challenges that the people of the i-Taukei community are facing relates to the disconnect between families.
He says this can result in the increased rate of crime that is being committed by the people of the i-Taukei community.
He adds that the i-Taukei are very welcoming people and this trait is very difficult to see amongst people now.
Katonitabua says that to bring this attitude back, we must all go back to the foundations of our society and know what is right and what is wrong.
Katonitabua says they have changed their vision to transforming i-Taukei families for a better Fiji.
The Ministry of i-Taukei Affairs, the i-Taukei Affairs Board and the Centre for Appropriate Technology and Development has come under one banner in pursuit of a common vision and under an emblem that represents their history, values and principles.
