Police Commissioner Ben Groenewald said they are taking the investigation of the death of one of the suspects involved in the robbery at the City Foreign Exchange in Nadi on Friday very seriously.
Groenewald said at this stage he is not in a position to comment on the duration of the investigation but he assures the public that the investigation will be conducted to International standard.
Groenewald added that this is a criminal investigation that will be preceded as indicated that he has appointed his Director Internal Affairs a Senior Officer Investigator with a team of four people who are investigating all circumstances surrounding the incident.
He also said the Lautoka Hospital is yet to release a post mortem report.
Social Democratic Liberal Party Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa says in a released statement that this incident is unacceptable and the government must bring the perpetrators to justice.
Responding to the statement Groenewald said people are entitled to their opinions.
