The Fijian business community has a very important role to play in "transforming Fiji" towards a unified, prosperous, inclusive and progressive modern nation.
These were the words of Minister for Tourism, Faiyaz Koya while speaking at the opening of the 2018 Top Executive Conference or TOPEX in Nadi.
Koya reiterated that in order to continue growth in a sustainable manner several initiatives and policies were announced to diversify our economy.
He says these initiatives will ensure that the economy is robust and resilient to external shocks and one such initiative is the Wairabetia Economic Zone in Lautoka.
Koya says the latter phase of the Wairebetia Economic Zone project will involve negotiations on a public‑private arrangement for the effective and efficient management of the Zone.
He also highlighted that Fiji can achieve greater growth by ensuring that the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises are also provided with the opportunity to participate in global value chains.
Meanwhile the TOPEX Conference with te theme of 'Change and Transition, Readiness and Resistance, will conclude tomorrow.
