Thailand renews continued support towards Fiji and PIDF member countries

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama with the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Thanasak Patimapragorn.

The Kingdom of Thailand has sent out a strong message of renewing its continued support for the member countries of the Pacific Islands Development Forum especially Fiji.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Thanasak Patimap-ragorn says they will remain committed to enhancing engagement and co-operation with it’s Pacific partners in every possible dimension.

He has thanked Fiji for it’s tremendous leadership within the Forum.

Patimap-ragorn says Thailand is honoured to be the guest country at the Third PIDF Leaders Summit.

Close to 300 delegates from 30 countries in the region were formally welcomed yesterday with a Guard of Honor by the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces and a full traditional welcome ceremony.

Patimap-ragorn who was highly impressed with the traditional welcome ceremony says Fiji’s richness in culture reflects friendship and sincerity.

He says it shows that Fiji is where happiness truly finds you.

The summit this year will focus on building climate resilient pacific economies and will finish this Friday.
