Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji National President Sarju Prasad says the terror attacks at the two mosques in Christchurch was devastating but one good thing that has come out of it is that it has brought the people of Fiji and the world together as one.
While speaking at inter-faith service in Labasa, Prasad thanked Allah for the opportunity to come together and pray for the victims and families of the terror attacks in Christchurch.
He further added that all people should love each other regardless of which religion or ethnic group they belong to.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea says that the close relationship that exists between Fiji and New Zealand goes beyond traditional diplomacy.
He says the terror attacks were felt by everyone and it soon became a reality as friends and families started becoming aware that Fijians were also among the worshipers who were so brutally slaughtered.
Vocea has urged all Fijians to take a pledge that whenever they encounter someone who says something racist and hurtful that they speak out against those people.
The inter-faith service organised by the Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji and was attended by close to 400 people of all religious groups.
