The Fiji Roads Authority will put temporary lane restrictions from Caqiri Road to Pilling Road in Nasinu this morning.
This is being done to allow a sufficient working area for critical water relocation pipe connections to the Kalabu Reservoir to be completed.
FRA Programme Manager for the Nadi and Suva Road Upgrading Project Zaina Khan says the Suva-Nausori Corridor will be reduced to two lanes today starting at 10am after the early morning traffic is cleared.
Khan says at the time of peak flows, two lane priority may be given to prevailing heavy traffic to ease movement over the next two days.
She says the lane restrictions are in place to protect the multiple teams from China Railway First Group and Water Authority of Fiji that will be working on the pipe connections under the supervision of FRA consultant.
She adds the teams will be working from 10am till 10pm.
Khan says the lane restrictions will be lifted as soon as the concrete has achieved acceptable strength within two days.
She says the Water Authority of Fiji and FRA anticipate no water shutdowns during these works.
