Parents of the student that was allegedly assaulted at a school in Lautoka last Friday, have raised concern about the teachers who were allegedly standing around and watching when the alleged incident occurred.
The parents have raised this concern after watching the video footage of the incident with the principal and police yesterday.
Police this morning recorded the statements of all those allegedly involved in the assault of the student and the witnesses.
Police confirm investigations are still ongoing.
A fight almost broke out between some relatives of the victim and some senior students at the school yesterday.
Police had to intervene and asked the other relatives of the victim to stay away from the students and let them investigate the matter.
The family has told Fijivillage that the student who is a prefect in his school went to stop an argument and he was allegedly bashed up by a group of students.
The student had to be taken to a hospital as he received facial injuries.
Education Minister Doctor Mahendra Reddy says they are dealing with the issue while Police are also interviewing the students and witnesses.
