A 55-year-old taxi driver who pleaded guilty to a charge of arson has been sentenced to twelve months imprisonment by the Suva High Court earlier today.
The court heard that in 2012 James Mani was not in good terms with his wife and set fire to his house in the Central division causing damage which amounted to $8,000.
While sentencing him Judge Justice Prabharan Kumararatnam said Mani is remorseful and seeks forgiveness from the court.
