Young chef Ana Tau Tawanakoro will be representing Fiji as the world's top 55 nations come together for the biggest culinary Olympiad on earth.
Tawanakoro who recently turned 23 will be the first participant from Fiji to take part in the prestigious 5th International Young Chef Olympiad.
She is a final year student studying Trade Diploma in Culinary Arts.
Mentor Chef Anish Lal who will be spearheading the team says Tawanakoro was one of the participants of the annual Moffat Chefs Salon Culinaire 2018 and had won a bronze medal.
Lal who is an Assistant Instructor in Food and Beverage at the Fiji National University says Tawanakoro was chosen on merit and her dedication towards the arts.
He says to take part in such an event is a big achievement.
The 5th International Young Chef Olympiad which started in 2015, will begin from the 28th of this month.
Competitions will take place in Delhi, Bangalore, Pune and Kolkata.
The opening ceremony will take place in New Dehli, India while the closing ceremony will be held on the 2nd of next month in Kolkata.
