Defending champions, Police have been bundled out of the tournament after the side suffered a 19-5 loss against First Light Taveuni.
Lemeki Tulele, Josefa Moceiwai, Aletesio Vakarorogo and Emosi Vucago put up a good performance for Taveuni to steal the win from Police.
Taveuni’s Manager, Qiolele Moresio says this is a big achievement for them as most of his players have just been playing in Vanua Levu.
Moresio also told Fijivillage that his players are under a strict diet program.
Army will face Wardens while First Light Taveuni will take on Crows Nest Yasawa in the cup semi-finals this afternoon at Lawaqa Park.
Army defeated Yamacia 17-nil in the first cup quarter-final.
Kelemete Koroidimuri and Alasio Naduva were instrumental for Army who got two important tries in the first-half.
Wardens also put up a dominant performance and thrashed Uluinakau 29-12 in the second cup quarter-final. Wardens led 10-5 at half time.
Crows Nest Yasawa came from behind to beat and Ratu Filise 17-15 in the third quarter-final.
Ratu Filise was reduced to five men in the second half due to ill-discipline and Yasawa took the opportunity to pile points.
