A young man with the desire to stamp his mark in the Pastry and Cuisine Industry in the Pacific has made a dream start winning the Class 7t; Breakfast Brunch Live Event at the Moffat National Salon Culinaire 2017, FNU Namaka Campus.
19-year-old Steven Taukafa who takes studies Certificate III Commercial Cookery at USP Pacific TAFE was also awarded a Gold Medal for Breakfast Brunch Live after being judged on the skills, presentation and creativity of a branch meal.
Originally from the Island Kingdom of Tonga, Taukafa attributed his success to his Program Coordinator, Pasirio Kitione and his family.
He adds that just after a year, it has been an incredible experience and he has a passion to further his knowledge and skills in the Commercial Cookery field after winning this honour.
Taukafa acknowledged Pacific TAFE for taking care of the students throughout the semester from transportation to big competitions and accommodations that has helped students to fully focus on the program they are undertaking in school.
He has urged young people with talent and passion in whatever field they study to never give up and to keep working hard to achieve their goals.
