With a desire to get young people inspired and athletes motivated, U.S based artist Richard Tanumi has collaborated with local artists Tropic Thunda and Mr Grin to help grow the budding music industry in Fiji.

Tanumi who had sought the music talents of Tropic Thunda and Mr Grin has produced and released a song called Firewalk that Tanumi hopes will create a wave of inspiration for youths.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Tanumi says that following a lapse of 6 years he has begun to write and produce music that he hopes can be an anthem that incorporates beats to motivate people.

The Australian born singer and dancer with maternal links to Soso, Kadavu says that he also wants to create his own version of a dance challenge for the young people in Fiji with the video to  his new song, Firewalk.

Tanumi who strongly believes in the abundance of talent of young people in Fiji says he hopes to inspire a mix of Melanesian and Polynesian dances and give young people a fun dance craze with his first of many productions.

Tanumi who has worked with various artists such as Chris Brown, Jason Derulo, Britney Spears, Fergie, Christina Aguilera and X-Men star Hugh Jackman.

He also aims to open up a Performing Arts School in Fiji in the near future.

Local artist, Dave Lavaki also known as Mr Grin says that the song is one that he enjoyed being part of adding that it was a great opportunity that has helped him grow as an artist and videographer.

Tanumi and Mr Grin will also perform the song live for the first time at the LegendFM Annual Fiji Street Party Big Night Out at the Suva Foreshore on new year’s eve.
