Talks underway to extend term for some Permanent Secretaries

There have been talks on extending the term of some Permanent Secretaries for another three months.

This has been confirmed by the Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Josefa Serulagilagi who said they have little time on hand to go through the advertising and other processes.

He said they are still waiting for instructions from the Public Service Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum on when the Permanent Secretaries positions will be advertised as the term for all the positions will come to an end on the 31st of this month.

Serulagilagi said the current Permanent Secretaries can also apply for another term in office.
