Talks are currently underway with Fiji National Provident Fund to build a UN House to bring all UN agencies under one roof.
Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the Fijian Government will provide the land as a couple of sites have been looked into for the building.
Sayed‑Khaiyum highlighted this during the high-level dialogue with the representatives of UN agencies in Suva.
Sayed‑Khaiyum says that the government will work closely with the UN to get the construction underway.
He says the UN is a key player for Fiji and they cherish the relationship with the United Nations and wants UN to continue to have its presence in Fiji.
He adds there is room for improvement on both sides, the UN and the respective Fijian agencies and Fijian Government overall.
He reiterated that the Fijian Government wants to get off the aid train and build local capacity.
