Family, friends and supporters cheered on when Charlene Tafuna'i was crowned Miss World Fiji 2014 at the Pearl Resort in Pacific Habour last night.
20-year-old Tafuna'i said she is still in shock.
Tafuna'i said the pageant has been a challenge for her trying to balance school, the pageant and family time during the eight weeks.
Tafuna'i who comes all the way from Nadi is the eldest of four girls and has maternal links to Samoa.
She was awarded the People's Choice, Beach Beauty and Designer Gown Presentation of Best Award.
Tafuna’i will now represent Fiji in London for the Miss World 2014 in December.
Hours before the crowning was going to take place there were rumuors on Social Networking sites that the Miss World Fiji winner had been leaked to the public.
It was said that the information was leaked out by one of the ten
finalists themselves.
Meanwhile, Miss World Fiji National Director Andhy Blake said this is not true and that only he had the winners information with him.
Blake added that there was no chance of the information being leaked out.
Second Princess was awarded to Vasiti Radekedeke while 17 year old Asena Rokotuiwai from Australia was awarded the First Princess Award.
