Suva successfully defends Skipper Cup at ANZ Stadium

Suva has defended the Skipper Cup after beating Nadroga 34-26 at the ANZ Stadium.

Suva opened the game with a try from Juita Takubu who dived over  the tryline. The Capital City side led 10-0 after a penalty from Setareki Raoba.

Nadroga came back firing with a try from captain Eremasi Radrodro in the 15th minute and increased their points through a try from Nacanieli Narekuva.

Takubu scored his second try for Suva in the dying minutes of the first half.

Former Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s player, Amenoni Nasilasila was instrumental for Nadroga however Suva led 20-19 at half time.

Nadroga again came out firing in the second half, with their captain Radrodro crossing the line for his second try.

Suva rallied together and continuos pressure resulted in two more tries for Suva from fullback Raoba and Captain Jone Delana.

Suva’s fullback Setareki Raoba’s kicking was also instrumental in Suva’s win as he converted all their tries and kicked three successful penalties.
