Suva Methodist Primary School is expected to undergo major rebuilding works soon.
Deputy Secretary to the Prime Minister, Sakeasi Waikere says that the school has not undergone proper repair works since its opening.
The school which is located in Toorak will be 100 years old next year.
Waikere says that they will be demolishing most of the buildings and rebuilding it as it is beyond the repairable state.
He confirms that they are currently in the first phase of this and no exact time has been given on when the works will begin.
Waikere adds that about $250,000 has been confirmed for this project.
He confirms that they will not be closing the school down for the rebuilding works as they will be just moving from one class to another.
He says that students of the school will be moved to makeshift classes and this is expected to only last for a week.
