Police have confirmed that the 14-year-old girl who was found at a beach at Pacific Harbour on Monday afternoon, was murdered by a person or a group of people.
Commissioner, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says this is a case of a brutal murder and police teams have been beefed up to fully investigate the matter.
Qiliho confirms that a suspect is in custody.
Other people are also being questioned.
Qiliho confirms that they are also investigating whether there was parental negligence in this case.
The Year 7 student had gone for Palm Sunday rehearsal at a nearby church on Sunday afternoon.
She then told her parents that she was going to a church crusade on Sunday evening.
The 14-year-old girl was missing from Sunday night.
