People need to be reminded that there is always hope whether it be from friends, teachers, employers or parents.
This was highlighted by Miss Fiji Sugar Corporation Akanisi Raisua who is one of the seven contestants vying for the Miss Ba Riverside Crown beginning tomorrow.
Raisua says she is taking a risk moving away from the theme of Climate Change to talk about suicide prevention which believes is a concern and needs to be addressed in any forum or platform made available to young people.
The 19-year-old has also encouraged parents and families to take the time to spend with their children to encourage and motivate them as well as provide them with counselling that can prevent young people from resorting to drastic measures to deal with ones problems.
Meanwhile, Ba Riverside Carnival Queens first public judging will be on Thursday.
Organisers have also revealed all the prizes for the contestants will be awarded on the same night as the crowning of Miss Ba Riverside will be on Saturday night at the Ba Market Grounds.
These awards include, Miss Photogenic, Miss Charity, Miss Personality, Best Sarong, Best Talent and the Best Research Award.
Miss Ba Riverside will go on to represent Ba in the Miss Fiji Pageant that will be held next month.
