The Sugar Cane Growers Fund will waive $10 application fee for loan applications relating to drought assistance.
The Fund lends money to sugar cane farmers.
CEO Raj Sharma says the application fee of $10 for loans for water pumps, pipes, borehole, water tanks and basement sought by farmers will be waived.
He says while there are solutions and government assistance is provided in affected areas, the Sugar Cane Growers Fund is also coming out to assist farmers.
A statement by the Sugar Cane Growers Fund says they have been receiving applications for loans during the current drought season.
Sharma says they are looking to streamline the process for such applications and give priority in funding within 2 days.
Farmers intending to seek loans are requested to call the nearest District Offices in Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki Labasa and Seaqaqa.
