Police Officers will be strictly enforcing the Minor Offences Act as well as the Liqour Act to ensure that students are prohibited from entering nightclubs and engaging in illegal activities this weekend after the Coca Cola Games.
Police Chief Operations Officer, Rusiate Tudravu is warning students to refrain from being involved in illegal activities.
He said there will be tight security around Suva.
Tudravu said officers from other units have been brought in to help deal with the movement of people into Suva at the end of competition.
He said police officers will also be tasked to monitor accommodation venues where students from schools outside of Suva will be billeted.
Police will be focusing operations at the ANZ National Stadium, the Central Business District as well as the main highways where traffic is expected to be busy.
More than 2,400 athletes from more than 140 secondary schools expected to take part in the Coca Cola Games this Friday and Saturday.
