The students of Year 701 and 702 of Vuci Methodist Primary School will resume classes from tomorrow at the school while Year 301 and 502 students will resume classes from Wednesday at the school.
Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar says that this arrangement was made after a fire destroyed 4 classrooms, a library and computer lab at the school.
Akbar has also stressed that all other students are to report to school today as their classrooms were not affected by the fire adding that all teachers of Vuci Methodist Primary School are to also report to school today, to assist with setting up the new classroom arrangements.
The school’s staff room and the assembly hall will be converted for the classes that were affected.
Meanwhile, Lelean Memorial School, Dilkusha Girls School, Dilkusha Boys School and Dilkusha Methodist High School assisted the school by providing them with furniture over weekend.
New text books will also be delivered to Vuci Methodist primary School tomorrow and new computers will be provided once space at the school is available.
The initial damage assessment is $424,000.
