More than 40 students of Dreketi Primary School will begin classes in three tents by provided the government today.
Turaga ni Koro of Dreketi Village, Jeremaia Niumataiwalu says their children’s education continue to be prioritised despite the difficulties which the villagers have gone through since the landslides which damaged crops and houses last month.
Niumataiwalu says they are also grateful to people who have provided support by donating donated desks and chairs as well as books for the children.
He says in a meeting villagers were urged to ensure that their children would all start school together today.
Dreketi Primary School was damaged by landslides during the Tropical Depression.
A new school office has also been built.
