Year 1 to Year 5 students in remote schools around the country are expected to receive their reading books titled "Read to Lead Fiji" from Vision Fiji next month.
Vision Fiji Chair Lynda Tabuya said there has been some delay in distributing the books, however, the books are expected to arrive on the 11th of February.
Tabuya said the books will first be covered and catalogued at the Library Services of Fiji before it is distributed to 110 rural schools under a pilot program.
She said urban schools are also under the pilot program, however, they want to target the rural schools first that do not easy access to the books.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education had officially approved the books as part of the school curriculum last year.
