Students enrolled for Journalism courses at the University of the South Pacific have been assured that their courses for this year will not be suspended and necessary arrangements are being made to get teaching staff.
This has been confirmed by USP’s Senior Lecturer Journalism and Discipline Coordinator Shailendra Singh after some students had raised concerns about the lack of lecturers for Journalism studies.
Singh confirms that a lecturer and a teaching assistant had resigned but all Journalism courses will be taught.
He says a suitable candidate will be taking up the position of a teaching assistant in three weeks time.
He adds the selection process for a lecturer is underway and interviews will be conducted soon.
