Strong wind warning remains in force for parts of Fiji

A strong wind warning remains in force for all land areas of Western, Southern and Eastern parts of Viti Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Southern Lau and Lomaiviti Group.

Southern Viti Levu includes Nadali, Bau, Nausori, Verata and Korovou, Eastern Viti Levu includes, Nasinu, Suva, Navua, Pacific Harbour, while Western Viti Levu includes Rakiraki, Ba, Lautoka, Nadi and Sigatoka.

The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure remains slow moving to the southwest of Fiji.

It adds that an embedded low pressure system over Vanuatu is expected to drift southeast and pass to the southwest of Fiji tomorrow.

The Weather Office says associated cloud, rain and strong winds is expected to affect the group till Sunday.
