SODELPA MP Ro Filipe Tuisawau says dog owners are facing issues where their dogs are being poisoned or trapped.
While speaking in parliament Tuisawau questioned Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development Dr Mahendra Reddy on how they would separate the good dogs from the bad dogs.
Reddy says the Stray Dogs Control Programme started on the 17th of this month and the entire operation will cost $53,000 for the first round of Stray Dog Control Programme.
He says this will continue for a week each in Suva and Nadi and if there is any other area people can send through information and they will respond.
Reddy also says they stopped dog poisoning three years ago.
