Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho

Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho has called on people to stop rumour mongering as some people started making calls and spreading misinformation that George Speight has escaped from prison.

Qiliho stresses that they have received no such report and some people are spreading rumours.

The Commissioner has already stressed that in light of the recent attempts to create unnecessary fear amongst the general public, he wants to reiterate and assure everyone that all necessary security measures are being implemented.

He is also calling on people to stop spreading the information about an event disrupting the celebrations based on a prophecy that is currently going viral on social media.

Qiliho says with the backing of the RFMF personnel, they will be working together to ensure all necessary security measures are implemented during and after the celebrations.
