The State has been given two weeks to file their affidavit in response to a case filed by former Acting Permanent Secretary for Education, Basundra Kumar in the Suva High Court.
She is challenging the manner in which her employment contract was terminated.
The case was called before Justice David Alfred today.
Kumar was represented in court by lawyer, Devinesh Sharma who will be given 14 days after 28th October to respond to State counsel Sofina Ali’s affidavit.
Kumar is claiming that proper procedures were not followed and she was not given the right of fair hearing.
She wants the court to review the manner in which her termination took place.
The matter has been adjourned to 17th November for mention.
