Regional Economist for the Asia and Pacific Division of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Fabrizio Bresciani met with the Pacific Islands Development Forum to have discussion on the issue of agricultural development.
Bresciani said this meeting was an opportunity to discuss their areas of interest and opportunities for developing partnership collaborations in the future.
He said they are focussing primarily on agriculture and rural development including fisheries and forestry.
He said they noticed that there is a greater interest in working on green and blue economy concepts and food security which are concern areas for IFAD.
Meanwhile, he said in future they will see whether they can identify programs or projects that have particular relevance to both organizations.
PIDF Secretary General Feleti Teo said they will collaborate and work cooperatively with them in order to support some of the rural communities.
