Speaker of Parliament, Doctor Jiko Luveni has asked Opposition MP, Semesa Karavaki to provide evidence to her in relation to an allegation against the Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
Karavaki claimed in parliament today that he has evidence to prove an incident allegedly involving advice from the Attorney General’s office to FICAC’s Deputy Commissioner.
He raised the issue as Karavaki says Sayed-Khaiyum had earlier said that the Attorney General’s Office does not give any advice to FICAC on what is the law, what is the assessment and what is the evidence.
The Speaker says any debate on the issue will come at a later date.
Doctor Luveni says she will also make her ruling on a later date but Karavaki has to provide the evidence to her.
