Some nurses attending the Acting Prime Minister and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum roadshow for civil servants continue to say that they want the $20 meal allowance.
They say that they do not want the meals provided by the hospitals.
The issue was raised by a nurse attending the roadshow in Savusavu.
Sayed-Khaiyum says it is a bit of a worry if the nurses do not want the same meal provided to the patients.
The Director for the Civil Service Reform Management Unit Jane Curran says the General Orders state that if the ministry is providing the meal, then you cannot claim the allowance.
Sayed-Khaiyum says going forward, there needs to be some general understanding on how this would work.
