The Anglican Diocese of Polynesia, the Pacific Conference of Churches, the Fiji Council of Churches and the UN Office of the Commissioner of Human Rights in the Pacific will hold a solidarity vigil for the victims of last Friday's terrorist attacks, their families, the Muslim community tomorrow at the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
The program will begin from 1pm.
The General Secretary of the Pacific Conference of Churches Reverend James Bhagwan has called on member churches and communities of faith to pray for the victims of the attacks and their families, for the Muslim community and for the people of New Zealand as they respond to this tragedy.
He says this is not just an attack on Muslims but an attack on all people of faith.
Reverend Bhagwan says that this crime underlines the need for deeper interreligious dialogue and stronger interreligious collaboration for peaceful families and inclusive communities.
He has condemned this terrible act and says that they stand with their Muslim brothers and sisters.
