The solar power initiative for Coboi Primary School in Macuata has officially been launched.
This project is supported by the University of Fiji.
University of Fiji Executive Finance Director, Ravineet Sami says the project is estimated to be approximately $50,000.
He says the final work on the project will be completed soon.
The university will also be assisting the school with 5 sets of computers, photocopier, solar bulbs, stationaries, books and sports equipment.
Other companies such as MV solar, Office supplies and Rentals, Sugar Taxis, Glitz Lightings, GEM IT and Voltro Services have contributed towards the project.
Sami says the second phase of supplying solar power to the staff quarters will be done later in the year.
