Three trainee trainers from the Legal Aid Commission and three from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions are now qualified to provide trial advocacy training to local legal practitioners in Fiji.
This is after the six trainee trainers successfully completed a three day International Advocacy Trainer’s Course for 2015.
Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde said the course was conducted by five faculty members of the International Advocacy Training Council from South Africa, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Pryde said the decision to invite the International Advocacy Training Council to Fiji to provide the three day intensive training is part of the DPP’s commitment to raising the standards of criminal trial advocacy in Fiji.
