For the first time in the History of the Vodafone Hibiscus Festival two sisters will be going head to head vying for this year’s Hibiscus crown.
Miss Fiji Care Lice Yacadra and Miss Foneology Lavenia Vunidreketi are proud sisters from Rewa looking to make it to the final 5 at this year’s Hibiscus.
22-year-old Yacadra says she hopes to build her confidence and build each other as she will also be using the Hibiscus Festival to speak about Women Empowerment.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Vunidreketi says she hopes to empower youths to be responsible when using the resources that are made available to them including social media.
Speaking to Fijivillage, the two women say they did not plan to enter the Hibiscus Festival together but now that they have begun this journey they hope to use it to build their relationship between them and with others.
The Queen’s first public judging and Sarong judging will be held at 7pm tonight at the Valelevu Grounds.
Meanwhile, Miss Suva City Council Simran Nand has won the Queen’s Best Research Award while Mr Trendy Fashions, Manasa Navara won the King’s Best Research Award.
