Sisters Dipti Shweta and Deepal Chand will be looking to learn how to better support each other as they are both vying for this year’s Ba Riverside crown.
20 year old Shweta is representing Ba Town Council while her 22 year old sister Chand is representing Web Media and Signs.
When questions by Fijivillage about competing against each other at the Vodafone Ba Riverside Carnival, Shweta says that she has always dreamt of being a contestant adding that they want to make a change, have fun and support each other.
Chand who is an accounts clerk says flooding is an issue that the people of Ba face every time there is a prolonged period of rain and hopes to raise more awareness amongst her community to encourage people to ensure drains are kept clean as flooding affects a lot of people in the community.
Meanwhile, last night the seven Queen contestants of the Ba Riverside Carnival had their Research Topic and Sarong judging while tonight will be the Queens talent night.
Organizers have reveled all the prizes for the contestants will be awarded on the same night as the crowning of Miss Ba Riverside which will be tomorrow night at the Ba Market Grounds.
These awards include, Miss Photogenic, Miss Charity, Miss Personality, Best Sarong, Best Talent and the Best Research Award.
Miss Ba Riverside will go on to represent Ba in the Miss Fiji Pageant that will be held next month.
