A single lane Bailey bridge will now be constructed at the Kasavu slip.
Fiji Roads Authority CEO John Hutchinson says this would permit heavy vehicles and buses to use the Kings Road.
Hutchinson says Fulton Hogan Hiways has been awarded the tender to construct the bridge.
He says $398,500 has been allocated to complete this project.
