An urgent oral question about the shortage of medicine at the CWM hospital was not allowed by the Speaker of Parliament Doctor Jiko Luveni.
The question which was prepared by Opposition parliamentarian Professor Biman Prasad was directed to the Health Minister Rosy Akbar.
Prasad wanted the Health Minister to inform parliament why their procurement policies failed and resulted in the shortage of what they say is at least 80 basic medicine and medical supplies at CWM hospital.
Speaker of Parliament Doctor Jiko Luveni said the shortage of medicine at the CWM hospital has been an ongoing issue and does not need to be brought to parliament in an urgent question.
Health Minister Rosy Akbar is expected to inform parliament about the issue in a ministerial statement.
